My First Post

Hi. My name is Stephanie. Through an interesting turn of events, I got an iPhone. My iPhone is AMAZING, but the thing I love about it the most is my ability to take some pretty awesome pictures. It's not the *best* quality in the world, but it's better than any other camera I've had-and I'm simple, and easy to please.
Enough about me, let's talk about my EPIC vision. I plan on updating my blog with cool pictures of places I go, and things I see that strike me as cool, unusual, or soothing. Whatever. If it catches my eye, it's ensnared by the phone, and uploaded to this little blog o mine. XD

My first picture is cool to me because of the different pottery colors, and the cool symmetry. Not only that, but it invokes good memories. B and I (B is my boyfriend) went to a Home Improvement store, not sure which one, and decided we needed some plant children. It's lonely not having kids, and I still hadn't sold him on a pet yet-I remember I was leaning towards a puppy. We had sooo much fun picking out the different pottery, talking about what would look best, and plans we had for our front yard in the future. It smelled pretty heavily of fresh dirt and wet cement. I love it when pictures help bring back fragrances. The best part? Going home afterwards and putting the plants in their new homes. It was a blast. AND it was cheap. Can't beat cheap.

This is my newly acquired family member-plant babies only go so far. His name is Stitch, although he responds best to "Meow Meow," or "Hey Buddy." He's a beautiful cat, and very excited about life. In this picture, he saw me moving the mouse on my keyboard, and after repeatedly laying ON the keyboard of my poor laptop, I finally had to set him behind it. He stared intently, hoping for some sign of his new "mouse" friend. I picked this shot for two reasons: A-well, I can't leave you hanging after saying I was lobbying for a pet. B- he has beautiful fur, AND I like how crisp the image of the plants were in the background. After using crap cameras before this, (not to say this is the best camera out there or anything) the definition and the lighting never fail to amaze me.

Ah, aren't they beautiful?  Taken at Manito Parks Greenhouse, in Eastern Washington, These li'l beauties were growing EVERYWHERE, and I fell in love with them! Not complex, not ridiculously rare-which makes it awesome. Why? Ah, psychologically speaking, I'm drawn to simple, normal things in life. Not everyone can be above average, or below average-thats why a vast majority of us are average. And I think, that as a pseudo-average individual, it's good to celebrate averagosity! And yes, that is a new word.

Thus concludes my first post. I know, the pictures aren't super fantastic, BUT, I have many good ones up my sleeve. AND, each new day brings a new adventure, a new reason to take a picture, and one more to post on my new delightful hobby-meh blog. XD XD XD <----those are smiley faces.

Thanks. XD
